Project#6: The Rift Beneath the Winter Sun
Ancient energy stirs beneath the winter sun. When the Frostgate fractures, a forgotten guardian steps through...a being older than the ice itself.
These images are built around a single idea: winter as a gateway to the unknown. I combined hard sci-fi shapes with soft, atmospheric snowfall to create a surreal moment where a traveler emerges from a frost-laden portal. My goal was to evoke wonder, mystery, and that cinematic pause you feel right before something extraordinary unfolds.
Created in Blender using custom lighting, volumetrics, and procedural materials. Rendered using Cycles (GPU).
Final color balancing was completed in Lightroom, with viewport captures and raw renders included. A short edit was assembled in DaVinci Resolve to showcase the scene, animation and workflow.
